International Easy Language Day: Free Easy Read Resources!
In 2024, Disability Equality Scotland and the Easy Read Toolbox set up the International Easy Read Community of Practice. This group meets online every month to share knowledge, learn from one another, and improve Easy Read practice around the world.
About International Easy Language Day
On 28 May each year, the world marks International Easy Language Day.
This celebrates the day that Inclusion Europe started in 1988.
This is a day to:
- raise awareness of what easy language is, and why it is important.
- show different ways that you can use easy language to communicate.
The Role of Easy Read
Easy Read is a type of easy language. Easy Read makes information clearer and easier to understand, helping more people access their rights, make informed choices, and fully take part in society.
