Consultancy

DES provides a well-regarded, flexible consultancy service on easy language and accessible communication.

We can work with you or your organisation to support:

• review of your existing communications – and how accessible they are
• development of new accessible communications
• user testing and feedback on your new communications.

Examples of our consultancy work include:

• supporting a museum to create updated accessible exhibition guides
• reviewing and editing a slide deck designed by a charity to be used by all local authorities in Scotland
• editing and expanding an organisation’s in-house style guide to include guidance on making communication accessible
• supporting an organisation’s event planning to include accessible communication and accessible opportunities for participation.

Our consultancy service builds on learning from Disability Equality Scotland members and partners, and our role as leaders of the UK Easy Read Standards Working Group and the International Easy Read Community of Practice.

We are open to new ideas, and we love working with new people. You do not have to be based in Scotland to work with us – we do a lot of our work online.
