Disability Equality Scotland is a member-led Disabled Peoples Organisation (DPO) and national charity. We work with our members in a mutually beneficial way to promote equality, accessibility and inclusion for disabled people in Scotland.
We rely greatly on the support of our members, and our members are the voice of disabled people in Scotland. Our membership is free.
There are four categories of membership available: ‘Individual’, ‘Organisational’, ‘Young’, and ‘Access Panel’.
Individual Member
Open to all disabled people or individuals with a personal involvement in disability. You will have opportunities to have your voice heard with regular research and policy consultations and invitations to events. Each individual member has one vote at our Annual General Meetings.
Organisational Member
Open to all organisations that support the aims of Disability Equality Scotland and can meet at least one of the criteria below. You will have opportunities to have your voice heard with regular research and policy consultations and invitations to events. Each individual member has one vote at our Annual General Meetings.
- Is a Disabled Peoples Organisation (DPO), with a majority of trustees or staff who have a disability
- Interest or involvement in disability related issue
Young Member
Open to all young people aged 12 to 17. Parent/guardian permission is required for applicants under the age of 16.
Access Panel Member
Open to all Access Panels in Scotland.
