Disability Equality Scotland helps to run the International Easy Read Community of Practice. This is a group of Easy Read writers and readers from across the world. We meet every month to share ideas about Easy Read.
The group recently published a guide to choosing pictures for Easy Read documents. The guide doesn’t tell you which pictures to use, instead it gives you some things to think about, to help you choose the right pictures for your readers. Even though the guide is about Easy Read pictures, the ideas can be helpful when choosing pictures for other types of communication too.
The next step for this work will be creating Easy Read versions of the guide. Members of the International Easy Read Community of Practice are going to work on this in the coming months, alongside Easy Read users from different countries and cultures. We are really interested to see what comes out of this work.
You can download your copy of the guide using the link below. If you want more information about the International Easy Read Community of Practice, please contact training@disabilityequality.scot. New group members are always welcome!
