Disability Equality Scotland – CEO Announcement
Disability Equality Scotland announces that after 6 years in CEO post and 10 years with the organisation, Morven Brooks will be departing from the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective from October 2022.
Morven commented:
“It is with both sadness and gratitude that I announce I will be moving on from Disability Equality Scotland as Chief Executive Officer.
I have been offered the role as Chief Executive with Voluntary Action Orkney and excited to be working with and supporting the third sector in Orkney.
Over the last six years, in my current capacity as Chief Executive Officer, I am proud and privileged to have had the opportunity to work with our members, Access Panels and wider partners.
This has been an incredibly difficult decision to make as I believe that the voice and dedication to improve accessibility in all forms in our society, is leading the way to change.
I will be supporting our staff team through this period of change and working closely with our Board of Directors to ensure we continue to support and listen to our members.
Thank you for your past and continued support of our vision to make life more accessible, equal and inclusive for disabled people in Scotland.
If you have any questions during this transition process, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at morven@disabilityequality.scot
The Board of Directors at Disability Equality Scotland would like to take this opportunity to thank Morven for her service to Disability Equality Scotland and its membership. We wish Morven every success with all her future endeavours.
