Disability Consultation Workshop – COVID Recovery Bill, Tuesday 26 October

Disability Equality Scotland is hosting a Disability Consultation Workshop with the Scottish Government’s Coronavirus Legislation Team on Tuesday 26 October, from 1:00pm-3:00pm. This team is working on the Covid Recovery Bill as part of the Government’s Programme for Government 2021 to 2022, which can be viewed here: www.gov.scot/programme-for-government

This Bill is currently being consulted on until 9 November 2021 – details are available at this website: www.gov.scot/collections/coronavirus-covid-19-legislation

The Deputy First Minister leads on the development of the Bill and has committed to including the voices of disabled people in the consultation process. Their team is actively considering how best to take forward that commitment and, to that end, we are hosting this virtual Disability Consultation Workshop event in order to hear the lived experience of disabled people.

Please view the Easy Read Covid Recovery Consultation document which outlines the key themes that will be discussed during the Workshop.

To ensure that disabled people attending have maximum opportunity to contribute, the maximum number of spaces for this workshop will be 35.
