Disability Equality Scotland Welcomes New Chief Executive Officer

Disability Equality Scotland is today (31 October 2022) delighted to welcome Lyn Pornaro to post as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Lyn is an experienced leader who has most recently been CEO with Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living (LCIL). Lyn’s dedicated leadership helped guide LCIL through the COVID-19 pandemic and other unprecedented challenges, while ensuring the charity remained a prominent fixture of the independent living movement.

Commenting on her appointment as CEO of Disability Equality Scotland, Lyn said:

“It is a great privilege to become CEO of Disability Equality Scotland, a leading National Disabled People’s Organisation. I recognise the immense challenges that are facing disabled people across all facets of society, which are worsened by the current cost of living crisis.

I am committed to working closely with our members, Access Panels, and wider stakeholders to address these issues to make life more accessible, equal, and inclusive for disabled people in Scotland.”

The Disability Equality Scotland Board of Directors are thrilled to have Lyn join the team. Lyn brings a wealth of experience to the post and is well-placed to progress our strategic aims and objectives.
